Method
Structural equation model (SEM) of developers’ adoption behavior for green building technologies (GBTS), integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), organized into individual, product, and interface factors.
Key findings
- Significant positive drivers: developers’ perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, developers’ personal innovativeness and “sense of community,” competitive advantage of the product, government structural guarantees, and pressure/support from relevant stakeholders.
- Names the industry problem explicitly: “the traditional industry culture is characterized by slow response to new changes and slow acceptance… The conservatism of most construction industries is a barrier to the adoption of GBTS.”
